The Mass Effect has released their 2020 schedule. The Mass Effect is a professional arena football team in Massachusetts holding their inaugural season in the Elite Indoor Football League (EIF).
The Effect will open their season on March 28th, 2020 in Middlebury, Vermont. The Effect hopes to begin the season with a road win against another EIF expansion team the Vermont Brew. The Brew is one of two Vermont teams who will battle for New England bragging rights. April 4th, the Effect stay in the Green Mountain State to take on the Vermont Bucks in Rutland, VT. The Effect then travels to Rochester, New York on April 18th for a match against the Kings.
After their three away games, the Mass Effect will play the remainder of their schedule at home. They will host the Rochester Kings for a back-to-back match on May 2nd. They then host the Jersey Bearcats from the American Arena League (AAL) on May 9th. On May 16th, they will host the Vermont Brew. The Effect then have another out-of-league game versus the Maryland Warriors of the AAL. To cap off their 2020 schedule, Mass Effect will again face the Vermont Bucks.
The Effect management have stated that they plan to add additional games against other opponents from different leagues.
Team owner, Doug Berry says the Mass Effect staff are committed to their players. “I’ve been involved in Arena teams and it has not worked out for the players” Berry said when asked about his motivation for creating the Effect. “As coaches, we wanted to have it done to the best of our ability…the right way and focus on the players.”
